Hello Monday

Origami green berry teabags by Nathalia Ponomareva,
a Russian designer.
Created using the simple principles of origami,
the teabag once immersed in water,
will gradually expand and look like paper cranes!
How brilliant is that.
Now I need a cup of tea.

Crazy Over Fringe

Last weekend I made something similar
to this black fringe necklace below

For my necklace,
I added chains in between the fringe
to give a more rugged look
(will post the photo soon)

And I just love this layer fringe necklace by Angie Johnson

Letterpress Cards by a.favorite design

I just love the way they incorporate
the font name into creative words & meaning

These are my two favourite:

Shop here or here

{via poppytalk}

And not forgetting
'Wishing a very Happy Birthday to my Mama!'

The Invisible Man

35-year-old Liu Bolin, from Shandong, China,
manages to camouflage himself in any surroundings,
no matter how difficult they might be.

Liu works on a single photo for up to 10 hours at a time,
to make sure he gets it just right,
but he achieves the right effect:
sometimes passers-by don’t even realize he is there until he moves.

The talented Liu Bolin says his art is a protest
against the actions of the Government,
who shut down his art studio in 2005 and persecutes artists.
It’s about not fitting into modern society.
Despite problems with Chinese authorities,
Liu’s works are appreciated at an international level.

Love Houndstooth

Okay this was supposed to be last weekend's post
but I didn't get the chance to snap a picture of it.

If you still remember my previous post on bedroom facelift,
here goes one of the DIY for my wall deco.

While spring cleaning the house for the past few weekends,
I found this old frame.
I repainted it in white, make my own houndstooth background
and sprayed the wooden letter F in turquoise.

Frame: Free
Wooden letter: RM8.00
Printing: RM2.00
Spray paint: RM 7.00

What do you think?

Paper art by Helen Musselwhite

Few months back, I posted on papergraphic by Yulia Brodskaya.
Here's another great paper art illustrator, Helen Musselwhite
which I stumble upon while flipping through a magazine
in a bookstore recently.

I like her monotone pieces!

Word World

This type-inspired chair Mission No. 2 by Eric Ku
reminds me of Word World (kids show)
which I enjoy watching with my nieces and nephews

Eric writes:
An inspiration from the American contemporary artist
Joseph Kosuth, One and Three Chair
Instead of giving new definition,
I redefined the concept of a chair by using alphabet.
One is able to construct a chair by assembling the redesigned alphabets

The Drain Pipes Hotel

Das Park Hotel was designed by
Austrian architect and designer Andreas Strauss,
and it is located in Linz / Austria.
From inside, ‘rooms’ have been humanized by
Austrian artist Thomas Latzel Ochoa,
who painted illustrations on walls.

How cool is that?
I'd try this just because =)
